Income levels for massage therapists vary by location, experience, and type of practice. Hourly rates can range from $50 - $75 an hour or more. According to the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), licensed massage therapists who perform an average of 15 massages in a week can earn approximately $45,000 annually.

Roxanne Portman

LMT, MMT, MTI   


Ms. Portman has been teaching massage therapy for 28 years and has taught more than 400 students.  She graduated from Jean's School of Therapy Technology in Hot Springs and is a practicing massage therapist. After many years of working for other schools, Ms. Portman decided to start Radiance School of Massage in Hot Springs. Ms. Portman enjoys watching her students learn and succeed in their careers as massage therapists.

The instructor at our massage therapy school is an exemplary professional with extensive expertise in the field. With a wealth of practical experience and a deep understanding of anatomy and therapeutic techniques, they guide students through a comprehensive curriculum. Their teaching style fosters a supportive and interactive learning environment, ensuring students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their future careers as massage therapists.

The Perfect Place to Launch Your Career


Radiance School of Massage offers a revolving course curriculum which allows students to start at any time. Day classes are held Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm with a 1-hour break for lunch.  This schedule allows for course completion in approximately 6 months.  The night schedule is Tuesday through Thursday (new days) from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm with one Saturday per month. Night class course completion will take approximately 9 months to 1 year.

600 classroom hours are required for graduation.  We welcome transfer students with a certified transcript from an accredited school. 

School Curriculum

  • Anatomy and Physiology

    175 hours of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and contraindications to massage therapy. Included are instruction on the human body, its functions, medical terminology, muscle physiology, types and structure, action of lymph and lymphatic tissue in the immune response, nutrition, and exercise.

  • Hygiene and Practical Application

    -

    Hydrotherapy, Electrotherapy, and Heliotherapy - 35 hours covering the effective and appropriate use of hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, salt glows, wet compresses, light therapy and mechanical devices in combination with massage therapy.

  • Massage Therapy Law, Business Management and Professional Ethics

    35 hours including lectures, marketing and resume writing to teach the student the skills necessary to become successful in the field of massage therapy. Instruction encompasses Arkansas massage therapy law and ethical practices related to massage therapy.

  • Massage Techniques

    275 hours including many techniques such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology, Essentials Oils and Spa Services.

  • Supervised Clinical Practice

    Maximum of 50 clinicals where the student performs massage on the public. Students apply their training to real client situations. Supervised clinical practice is essential as student transition from beginner to practicing professional.

  • Mblex Preparation and Study Sessions

    50 hours

All CEU Classes are approved by the Arkansas Department of Health / MT Section. If Saturdays don't work for you and you still need CE hours call for additional class information. Arrangements can be made to provide classes for upcoming renewals.

Affordable Tuition Programs for Any Budget


Tuition is $5,400 and includes all textbooks and classes. We offer a convenient interest-free payment plan. A down payment of $750 is due on or before your first day of class. The balance of your tuition may be paid in five monthly payments of $750. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, or MasterCard. In addition to our in-house financing, we have a private lending company that we utilize. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services has us as a provider for career training. We are now VA-approved! It is now easier and more affordable than ever to launch a new career.

Let Our Students Pamper You


Enjoy a massage while helping our students practice what they've learned. We offer a variety of student massage services at our massage school. Student massage services are available on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons at 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm. They are also available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7:00 pm.
